it was the summer before my final year in university that a mate of mine introduced me to Ian Goodfellow’s “Explaining and Harnessing Adversarial Examples”. we were sitting in a Spoons on Southampton’s High Street when he showed me the infamous panda to gibbon via adversarial noise photo.

as my final year started, i urged my supervisor to allow me to pick my own subject to research for my dissertation, and so i wrote Outlier Detection using Generative Adversarial Networks, earning myself a Zepler Project Prize for best dissertation in my department that year.

i’ve since switched gears to a more engineering approach to machine learning and deep learning, helping startups and scaleups build platforms to run machine learning (and more recently AI) at scale. you can read more about my work achievements in my /resume
